1. Product Overview
The Resilient Seated Gate Valve (PN 16, F4) is a high-performance, bidirectional sealing valve designed for isolation service in a wide range of piping applications. Manufactured from ductile iron (GGG-40/50 per EN-GJS-500-7/EN 1563), it offers an optimal balance of strength, durability, and corrosion resistance. The key feature is its elastomer-encapsulated wedge, which ensures bubble-tight sealing, low operating torque, and reliable performance in water, wastewater, and other neutral media.
2. Key Features & Benefits
Bubble-Tight Sealing: The fully encapsulated resilient wedge (seating face) compresses against the valve body seat, providing excellent sealing integrity in both flow directions, minimizing leakage risk.
Low Operating Torque: The non-lubricated, resilient seal design significantly reduces friction, allowing for easier and smoother operation compared to metal-seated gates, even after prolonged periods of inactivity.
Ductile Iron Construction: Offers superior tensile strength and impact resistance compared to grey cast iron, with good pressure-bearing capability and resistance to mechanical stress.
Full Bore Design: Provides minimal pressure drop across the valve when fully open, ensuring efficient system flow and reducing pumping energy costs.
PN 16 Pressure Rating: Suitable for a maximum working pressure of 16 bar (1.6 MPa / 232 psi) at 20°C (68°F). Pressure-temperature ratings adjust according to seal material.
F4 Face-to-Face Dimension: Compliant with EN 558-1 Series 4 / ISO 5752, ensuring direct interchangeability and easy replacement in existing piping networks.
Corrosion Protection: Standard epoxy coating (approx. 250 µm) per EN 14901, typically RAL 5012 or equivalent, provides excellent internal and external corrosion protection for both buried and above-ground service.
Fire-Safe Option: Available with design compliant to API 607/API 6FA or ISO 10497 fire-test requirements upon request.

4. Sealing Elastomer Options
EPDM (Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer): Standard for water (potable & wastewater), steam (<120°C), weak acids/alkalis, alcohols. Excellent weathering and aging resistance.
NBR (Nitrile Butadiene Rubber): Standard for oils, fuels, and hydrocarbons. Good abrasion resistance.
FKM/FPM (Fluorocarbon Rubber - Viton®): For aggressive chemicals, high-temperature services (up to ~180°C), and aromatics. Fire-safe versions available.
CR (Chloroprene - Neoprene): Good all-around resistance, often used for seawater and mild chemical services.

6. Installation & Operation Notes
Designed for fully open or fully closed service. Not recommended for throttling or flow control.
Install with stem orientation upwards (preferred) or horizontal. Vertical stem-down installation may be possible with specific design verification.
Pipeline must be depressurized before operating the valve.
Regular functional exercise is recommended for valves in standby service to maintain operational readiness.
